Jeremy Rix Announces Incumbent & Party Endorsements

WARWICK – After weeks of productive conversations with residents of the Norwood, Lakewood, and Pilgrim neighborhoods in Warwick, City Council candidate Jeremy Rix is pleased to announce the unanimous endorsement of the Ward 2 Democratic Committee, as well as the Ward’s sitting Councilor, Tom Chadronet.

“It’s a great honor and I’m thrilled to receive the endorsement from a diverse group of Democrats who are active here in the neighborhood. I’m proud to have all of them behind me as I move forward in my campaign,” Rix said, after receiving the news on Saturday. “I’ve spent a lot of time lately speaking to people here.  People have clear expectations: They want someone who cares about the neighborhood and has the skills to get things done. I look forward to more conversations with them as we gear up for the Democratic Primary on September 13.”

“We were very impressed by Jeremy’s presentation, where he detailed that he has walked over 50% of the Ward already and facilitated over a dozen requests from residents to the Department of Public Works, police, and National Grid,” said Ward 2 Committee Member Kathy McElroy.  “He’s really taken initiative, walking the neighborhood and asking people what he can do to help.”

Since announcing his candidacy in March, Rix and his campaign team have attended dozens of local meetings and events, knocked on hundreds doors, and have spoken with Warwick citizens on issues from traffic, crime, and sewers to school consolidation and taxes, among many others.
